American Airlines announced that Air Transport World, the leading global and commercial airline magazine, has named American Airlines the 2017 Airline of the Year.
ATW editors selected American from a field of more than 10 global competitors, in recognition of the achievements by its leadership and employees this past year.
The successful integration of American and US Airways was also the largest, most complex airline merger in history. And throughout the process, the company committed to invest more than $3 billion in new customer products and services that include a new-generation aircraft; greater onboard connectivity, entertainment and dining choices; upgraded lounges; and new city pair services.
